||St. Patrick’s Place Reunion Meeting 2018
The next meeting of the St. Patrick's Place Reunion 2018, will take place at Tirry Community Centre, on Tuesday, July 31 (last Tuesday of the Month), starting at 8.30pm. All interested are more than welcome to come along. Bring your photos and stories.
||Killusty Pony Show this Saturday, July 7
On this coming Saturday, July 7, the annual Killusty Pony Show will take place at Claremore, Killusty, Co. Tipperary, thanks to the kind permission of landowners, Noel Byrne and Barry Walsh.
||Fethard children go ‘Strictly’ for local school
Fethard’s young dancing stars of the future raised the roof at Fethard Ballroom with their dazzling performance at this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, organised by Marina’s School of Dancing, with the fantastic proceeds, totalling €4,090, going to Fethard’s Holy Trinity National School.
||Fethard Festival Family Fun Day
This year’s Fethard Festival Family Fun Day will take place on Sunday, June 17, with the usual fun of the fair by the Town Wall park, with live music and lots of stalls! Other events will include the traditional Fancy Dress Parade which will commence at 2pm from Fethard Ballroom,
||Abymill 30th Anniversary celebrated with a gathering of friends
On Saturday, May 26, 2018, Abymill Theatre celebrated its thirtieth anniversary, and to mark the occasion, a special gathering was held in McCarthy’s Bar on the following Thursday night, May 31, where all involved in any way came along to celebrate this milestone with the Abymill Board members.
A large number of locals associated with the Abymill, Fethard Players and Hogan Musical Society, gathered informally to reminisce over the past three decades of theatrical life in Fethard.
||Fethard Duo to compete in Punchestown Charity Race
The Punchestown Kidney Research Charity Race 2017 now has two local entrants. In recent days, Áine Phelan, Derryluskin, got the call-up to compete in this year’s event. This means that she and Mary Jane Kearney will fly the flag the Fethard in this renowned charity race. A fundraising drive has been setup on Justgiving.com Aine is delighted to be able to support this very worthy cause and any support received would be greatly appreciated. Aine will ride Jack Blue.
||Music program prevents teen addiction
A pioneering approach to drug and alcohol education that uses pop music videos was recently launched in the Patrician Presentation Secondary School in Fethard to the Second and Transition Year students.

Wonderful dry weather was the order of the day for Fethard minis who travelled to Thurles for an enjoyable morning of rugby.
||Fethard girls do well at Hip Hop
Well done to Fethard girls who won trophies at the All-Ireland Hip Hop dancing championships, which were held last Sunday at the City North Hotel, Gormanstown, Co. Meath.
||Clodagh highly commended in the EPA Wetlands photo awards
Congratulations to Clodagh Blake whose photo of the ‘Marsh Fritillary Butterfly’ was one of the ‘Highly Commended’ photographs at the EPA Wetlands photo awards in Wexford. The photography competition was organised by Wexford Country Council in partnership with the EPA Irish Ramsar Wetlands committee.
