Rush, Dublin, Ireland.
The Community Text Alert programme, established by Muintir Na Tire in partnership with An Garda Síochána, evolved in response to a rise of crime in rural Ireland. It is a voluntary crime prevention programme and it encourages the community to pro-actively participate with An Garda Síochána in improving the safety, security and quality of life of the community.
It provides a service whereby people can call in suspicious activity or crime to An Garda Síochána who then issue a text alert to all in the community that are registered. Not only does it in increase vigilance to prevent crime but it is also key in catching perpetrators due to increased levels of awareness across the community.
All you need to do to participate is to register below, supplying your nominated mobile number to receive alerts and your annual €10 contribution. Together let’s make Rush an even better place to live!
