Minor

Best of luck to our county minor (which is U17 this year) players Cathal Sweeney, Aidan Halloran and Eoghan Tinney who are all in the squad for Galway's first championship game this Friday evening vs Roscommon in Tuam. Cathal and Aidan are both starting and Eoghan is straight into the squad after only just returning from a broken hand in the past week.

Juvenile Football

U6-u10 all training as usual outdoors tuesdays the 2018 street leagues for u9/10 due to start Tues May 15th with U11s/12 starting that day for 2 weeks only due to u12 league.

U11 played Oranmore away in 12B city league semi final and were just pipped by 2 points having been ahead at half time. With 24 players all getting a half each the lads are progressing well and looking forward to the county league now where we'll field 3 u12 teams in total.

U13 team had a solid win over Tuam Stars last Friday in the 14B league in Cappagh Park. Good all round display and all 25 players contributed to the win.  Thanks to James and co for having the pitch in great condition. Next game is this Friday versus Moycullen in the U13 League in Cappagh.

The u14a footballers played Killannin last Friday in difficult underfoot conditions. There were some great individual displays and plenty of opportunities to win the match. Unfortunately we didn't convert enough of them. The lads kept battling despite going behind on a number of occasions, and are working hard to improve ball retention and distribution. The next match is v Oranmore-Maree on Friday May 18th at home.

U15's won their opening league match lastnight by 2-5 to 1-7 vs Moycullen. Did well to grind out a win in terrible conditions. Next up is St. Michael's away next Tuesday.

U16s next game away to st James in 2vweeks.

Adult Hurling

Minor Hurling:

Minor A Championship vs Ballygar @ 6:45pm in Turloughmore on Sunday. Big game for SK so we need everyone to come out & support the lads.

Please note: That’s not the time on the Galway GAA website.

SK Junior Hurlers played Castlegar in a

challenge in the Prairie on Sunday last.

Both sides were missing a number of regulars, however those involved battled hard throughout. SK were beaten by 3.17 to 2.14 but the match practise was key for SK with the Championship looming.

Training for Adult Hurlers takes place tonight, Wednesday at 8pm. Note the later time.

We played Meelick-Eyrecourt last Monday evening in the Prairie.  After a good 1st half Eyrecourt pulled away in the 2nd half.

We play Kilconieron next Monday at 11am in Kilconieron.

Well done to Oisín Quinlan who took part Galway Féile Skills last Sunday in Carnmore.  Unfortunately our long Puck competitor had to withdraw from the event.  Conal Gavin picked up an injury Saturday at the Galway Academy and will see him on the sideline for a while.  We wish Conal a speedy recovery.

U16 Hurling

The U16's travelled to Sylane last Thursday to take on the home side.  An outstanding performance for our boy saw use taking the win .

We will play Killimor on Thursday evening in the Prairie at 6:45pm.

u16 - Quiet week for the U16 Girls. Gabriels Quarter Final fixed for Sat 28th April did not take place as Gabriels gave a walk over. Not ideal preparation but the point had to be made. SK had made numerous attempts to play game but all were refused by Gabriels. Training took place Wed 26/4 with 27 Girls in attendance and again on Sat 28/4 at 12noon in Sunny Cappagh Park.

Next up is internal friendly amongst Junior Ladies and U18 Girls on Wed 2/5/18. After that SK await the 1/4Final winners with the semifinals to take place probably Sat 12th May. Watch this space for more updates.

SK U16 Team management wish Emma Madden and Laura Kelly and the entire U16 County Panel and Management good luck as they seek to win the 2018 Connacht U16 Title on Fri 11/05/2018. Please plan to support the Team as then embark on the 2018 Campaign.

u14 - U14 Girls took part in the féile last weekend. Div 1 Team managed to get out of their group in Clonberne but were ultimately beaten in the semi-final by  Claregalway, who went on to win it out. Our Division 4 team competed in Westside and after an opening win were then beaten in the next 2 matches. All the girls played and really enjoyed the day. Coaches very happy with where both teams are at and as some of our players return from injury we expect to be competing at the business end of the ongoing league and also the championship later this summer. The club can be very proud of this bunch of U14 Girls.

u12 -  The younger U12b girls football (green team) were beaten last Wednesday away to Caltra. It was a wet and muddy evening but the girls played very well and they had great fun. The coaches can see great improvements with all the girls.

The U12a girls football (blue team) had another great victory last Thursday in Cappagh park. They played very well and won against a very strong Annaghdown team 9-11 [38] to 5-06 [21]in the Div 1 league. It was another great performance by the U12 girls. They have another match this week away to Claregalway.
