Sympathy: It was with great sadness we learnt of the passing of Club Vice President Sean (Johnny) O'Meara on Saturday. With Tipperary, Johnny won a National Hurling League medal in 1957. After a spell in the US, he returned to Ireland in 1965 and won a North Senior medal with Lorrha in 1966 and also won North Junior footballs medals in 1966 and 1968. In 1966 he played in the National League for both the Tipperary hurlers and footballers.

Sean turned his hands to refereeing and officiated in all levels of both hurling and football, including 4 North senior finals between 1968 and 1982 and was also the Tipperary representative in the Munster Referee's Advisory Council. He was also a registrar for the North Board for seven years, a County Board Trustee for 4 years, as well as being involved in Scor activities.

He was given a Guard of Honour by the club when his remains were brought to St Ruadhan's Church in Lorrha on Monday night and was buried after funeral mass on Tuesday at Monsea Cemetery, Ballycommon, Nenagh.

To his wife Peg, daughters Margaret, Marie, Valerie and Olivia, we extend our deepest sympathies. May he rest in peace.

Lorrha GAA Club would like to sympathise with the Cleary family on the passing of Geraldine Cleary, Birr, who passed away recently. May she rest in peace.
